Infertility

I have some crazy, exciting news to share with you!

At the end of February, I received a random phone call from ORM Fertility in Oregon. They were wondering if I would be interested and available to photograph a set of twins for the cover of an upcoming issue of Fertility Road magazine! Initially I was confused…how on earth did they find me all the way in Ohio?

Meet Heather and Brandon, who live near my studio here in Ohio. They are just the sweetest couple who struggled for nearly 10 years to have a family. They turned to ORM Fertility for help and were blessed with healthy twins, a girl and boy!! They are so beyond happy that they have finally realized their dream of becoming parents!

We quickly needed to coordinate our schedules for their photo session as the magazine wanted the images in just 2 days for the cover! Thankfully, it all worked out great! The babies, affectionately deemed the #Twincredibles, were about 4 months old and just as cute as can be! ORM had asked for the babies to be photographed wearing their little “Made with Love in Oregon” onesies and that’s the image that was chosen for the cover.

Of course my darling husband needed to document my reaction the day my copy of the magazine arrived! (Please excuse my geeky self…lol) #lorimasonphotography

This entire experience was very surreal for me…never in a million years did I think I would ever be a part of something like this. But for me, this is what photography is all about. Not the part about getting to shoot a magazine cover… Yeah, that’s cool and all, but it’s bigger than that.

We live our lives loving each other, welcoming children into our world and watching them grow, make mistakes, do awesome things, then one day love and welcome children of their own. There are so many steps and milestones along this journey that make up our memories. Capturing those huge, important moments on “film” is what I do. It is immensely meaningful to me and I hope to create a little bit of joy every time you look back and relive those moments during your life.

Heather and Brandon had no idea how challenging it was going to be to start their family. Thankfully they had the help of ORM Fertility and now… their journey of memories has just begun. You can read more of Heather and Brandon’s story here.

Coincidentally, April 21st - April 27th, 2019 is National Infertility Awareness Week.

#InfertilityUncovered

Infertility affects one in eight couples, which can result in shame, guilt and overwhelming longing for something others have more easily: children. But sometimes you witness a beautiful story that leaves you filled with optimism and amazement.

You may have seen my social media post a few days ago of an empty bucket in honor of the women faced with infertility. We understand that seeing all the beautiful newborn portraits that we share can be heartbreaking when you are waiting for a baby of your own. Please know that you are not alone. The bucket symbolizes the emptiness that women with infertility often feel...but it also represents the hope for these women, that when their miracle arrives, we, their photographer, will be here to celebrate with them!

ORM is donating $1 for every Like and $5 for every Facebook Share (up to $5,000) of the Twincredibles video to RESOLVE: the National Infertility Association. Please take a minute to help this awesome cause.
