When should I book a newborn session?
As soon as possible as I accept a limited amount of newborn due dates per calendar month and sometimes book out months in advance. By booking your session (with a paid retainer) your baby is given priority on my schedule. Even if your baby arrives early or late you are still guaranteed a spot on my calendar.
If you are near your due date or if baby has already arrived, please contact me for availability and I will do my best to get you in for a session.
How old should my baby be for a newborn session?
I always suggest getting newborn photographs within the first two weeks of your child's birth. This magical stage of life passes in the blink of an eye and those early days are life changing for everyone involved. By scheduling your newborn session early on, I'm there to capture all the feelings and emotions you and your baby are going through. Babies also change a lot -- even within the first few weeks. Getting your newborn photographs as soon as possible ensures we capture that "newborn look" in all of its squishy, adorable goodness.
Where will my baby be photographed?
In order to achieve the consistent image results you see on this website, all newborn sessions are held in my Solon studio. The studio has a huge collection of high end outfits, bonnets, headbands, wraps and more. New items are constantly being updated and added to the collection to keep each session fresh. Your baby's session will be fully styled based on your consultation with me prior to your session. All you have to do is bring the baby!
How long does a newborn session last?
Newborn sessions take about 2 - 3 hours, this includes wiggle room for feeding and soothing breaks.
Can siblings be a part of the session?
Yes, of course! Please let me know that you are interested in a deluxe newborn session that includes parents and/or siblings. I also offer baby only sessions if you wish.
Health/Covid
I am up to date on my Covid, TDap and Flu vaccines, including boosters.
The studio is cleaned and sanitized before and after every session.
All outfits/props used during sessions are washed/cleaned prior to their next use.
Sessions are held by appointment only, with only the family being photographed allowed to be present during the session.
Shoes are removed at the door to keep the studio space as clean as possible.
If you or someone in your household is even remotely sick (colds etc), please contact me to reschedule.
Safety
The most important aspect of any session is safety. My many years of experience and extensive training in handling and posing newborns will give you the peace of mind that your baby is safe at all times. I have photographed hundreds of newborns and will never put your baby in a position that will compromise their safety. The studio and props are meticulously cleaned and sanitized after each session.
I am a fully licensed and insured business in good standing with the City of Solon.
